  • TUES., APRIL 20TH, 7:00 P.M. - "THEOLOGY OF THE BODY FOR TEENS" INFORMATIONAL MEETING in Oswald Hall.  Theology of the Body for Teens is an exciting and dynamic program based on Pope John Paul II's revolutionary Theology of the Body.  This program will be offered this summer to graduating seniors and young adults, and we are considering using it in the fall as part of High School youth ministry.  Come, get a taste of this Life Changing program.  If you have any questions, contact Matt Guza at 989-551-7729.
  • FRI., APRIL 23RD - FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT - 6:00 P.M.  Are you looking for an opportunity to share some fun time with other young families?  Join us in Oswald Hall for dinner and a movie.  We will be seeing "The Easter Storykeepers" an exciting and inspirational animated adventure that teaches about faith and family values.  Please call Mickey at 269-6691 so that we will be sure to have enough hot dogs ready.

Adults

  • Adult Bible Studies -

  • RCIA - AN OFFER FOR A LIFETIME - AND THEN SOME.  Studying the Faith is a life-long journey.  We grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus.  The RCIA is a wonderful way to study the faith especially from an adult perspective.  St strengthens us for our mission to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.  Classes will begin September 8, 2009.

The RCIA is open to:

Catholics who have not been confirmed,

Catholics who want a deeper understanding of their faith from an adult perspective,

Protestant Christians who want to learn more about the Catholic Faith, or

An un-baptized person searching for faith within a Christian community.

We meet weekly for 1 1/2 hours in the education center.  The program we use is called "Journey of Faith" based on Scripture and the teaching of the Church.  If you are interested or know of someone who may want to explore our Catholic Faith in a small classroom setting, please call Jan Rapson at 269-7729.

Catechists

  • THE VIRTUAL LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR FAITH FORMATION

What is the Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF)?

It is an Internet based distance learning initiative which supports adult faith formation and the catechetical ministry of the Church.

What is the purpose of VLCFF?

To offer adult faith and catechist formation anytime and anywhere via the Internet.  In collaboration with our VLCFF Diocesan Partners, we work to complement and support your diocesan efforts to enhance their pastoral and educational services to the local Church.

What kind of courses are available?

Scripture, Sacraments, Catholic Beliefs, Church History, Jesus, Catechetics, Media Education, and others.  New courses are constantly being designed for VLCFF.

What is the course format?

Courses run for 3-6 weeks.  Each course is capped at 15 participants and is designed to be an experience within a small virtual community, not an independent study.

What is the fee for VLCFF courses?

Because your diocese is a VLCFF Partner, the fee is only $40.00 per course.

What do I need to participate?

You need to feel relatively comfortable with using a computer and the Internet.

How do I get more information?

Contact Mickey Gavitt in the Sacred Heart Education office at 269-6691.
